From September 15 to 18, 2025, a delegation from the Ho Chi Minh University of Banking (HUB) took part in a series of activities under the Erasmus+ MICRO4ASIA Project, hosted by Masaryk University in Brno, Czech Republic.
The MICRO4ASIA Project aims to establish a harmonized recognition framework for micro-credentials by combining European expertise with the practical contexts of Asian partner countries. Core activities of the project include comparative research, workshops, the development and validation of the recognition framework, and academic exchanges among partner institutions.

HUB Representatives at the Working Sessions
The meeting in Brno focused on key objectives: examining the practical implementation of micro-credential recognition mechanisms in Europe and Asia; comparing recognition approaches across countries; proposing a feasible recognition framework for Laos and Vietnam aligned with European practices; and refining this framework through consultations, validation, and feedback from project members and stakeholders.
Overview of the Project Working Sessions
The sessions featured specialized activities such as introducing and discussing the concept of a recognition framework; training on comparative analysis skills; conducting research, surveys, and interviews at higher education institutions to collect practical data; and developing a draft framework for preliminary validation prior to pilot implementation. Alongside academic discussions, the workshop also provided opportunities for partner universities to share expertise and foster collaboration through cultural exchange activities, including a Garden Party and a Boat Trip.
HUB’s Contribution Highlighted at Czech Republic
During the workshop, Dr. Nguyen Tran Phuc, Vice Rector of HUB, emphasized that micro-credentials represent not only an educational innovation but also a cornerstone of the University’s digital transformation and internationalization strategy. Guided by the philosophy of “liberal arts – interdisciplinary – experiential learning”, HUB is committed to developing internationally recognized certifications that help learners strengthen competencies, expand career opportunities, and contribute to sustainable development. He further stressed that micro-credentials are an essential tool for promoting lifelong and flexible learning, thereby advancing HUB’s commitment to the modernization of higher education.
The workshop reaffirmed HUB’s pioneering role in advancing micro-credentials in Vietnam, broadening international cooperation, and aligning with global standards, thereby strengthening the University’s position in educational innovation across the region.
